Here’s a look at a work in progress I’m doing for an accounting firm. I’m really excited about the cover (see the right panel). There’s a lot of visual metaphor with the engraved currency images mixed in with the harvested crops. I’ll post the inside soon.
The back panel (middle in the picture) has changed to be much more readable.

So here’s the cover of Chesbro’s most recent “Forte.” I shot and designed the cover from yesterday’s shoot with Keri Byrnes.

I thought it might be fun to see a few of the shots I took today for the Teton Guitars shoot. I’m mid-post production right now so I’ll post a finished product at some point soon.
So, here’s what I came up with. I obviously didn’t spend a lot of time on the background. I may come back to do another pass to add a little more “wet” to the skin, but for now you have, Octobot. Lineart in illustrator and color in photoshop with custom brushes. I’m still experimenting with new brushes. I’m also not a huge fan of the long skinny tentacle on the right, doesn’t really fit with the rest of the guy, the highlights could use some serious softening… anywho, it is what it is.

For those of you that don’t get the reference, SuckerPunch is about a group of girls in a mental institution who need to collect 4-5 items to escape. Its kind of an “inception” thing where you’re not sure what’s real and there’s delusions within delusions. A main theme in this movie is the empowerment of the individual in the midst of daunting threats and opposition. This is visually a great movie, the plot kinda falls apart (or isn’t there much to start with?) but the writing in this one is basically an excuse to move from one crazy visual scene to another. The colors that they tint the scenes with are really cool. it gives the film a very illustrated look. I’d watch it again, my wife hated it.
The image on the left is one of 7 remaining pictures of my parent’s wedding. For whatever reason, they didn’t have a photographer. My mom has always wanted a shot of them in front of the Los Angeles Temple where they were married. In Photoshop, I masked out the background and made the veil and edges of their hair translucent. Then a little color adjustment and wah-lah.
